The Interreg Caribbean 2014-2020 Programme

Interreg Caribbean is a European Territorial Cooperation programme allowing operators from Guadeloupe, French Guyana, Martinique and Saint Martin to implement win-win projects with their neighbours in the Caribbean, more than 40 countries and territories.

This operational programme is part of a partnership with international Caribbean Regional Organizations (ACS) (Association of Caribbean States), the OECS (Organization of Eastern Caribbean States) , CARICOM/CARIFORUM (Caribbean Community/Caribbean Forum), member organizations of the strategic steering bodies of the programme.

It is also consistent with the strategies of other international Caribbean organizations such as ECLAC (economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean), SICA/SIECA (Central American Integration System/Secretariat Of the Central American Economic integration) and the OCTs of the Caribbean.

As such, Interreg Caribbean has a budget of about 85.7 million euros, including 64.2 under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), to support projects that meet the programme strategy and the needs of the territories.

The program has two components:

-A cross-border component, which concerns only project carriers located in Guadeloupe, Martinique and in a country or territory of the OECS;

-A transnational component, which concerns project holders located in Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Saint Martin and the Greater Caribbean.
