What does European cooperation look like in everyday life?

Celebrating Europe together, on the ground!

Interreg Cooperation Day is your invitation to see and feel what happens when regions work together. Every year, Interreg programmes host public events across Europe - from nature walks to local concerts - turning European cooperation into something real, local and human.

Who makes it all happen?

Behind this Europe-wide celebration, there’s a shared effort. Interreg programmes across the continent take the lead in organising events that bring cooperation to life. To make that easier, Interact steps in with tools, materials and this very website, all designed to support local teams in planning, promoting and sharing their activities.

We are celebrating 35 years of Interreg!

This anniversary offers a chance to reflect on the impact of the programme, showcasing successful projects and celebrating the positive changes achieved.

From improved infrastructure and green initiatives to enhanced social inclusion and new economic opportunities, Interreg has been transforming regions, making borders less of a barrier.

And that’s exactly what we want to celebrate! The unique added value of our programme in the region, which has enabled its evolution in recent years. Some programmes were born 35 years ago, while others came later, but all contribute to this shared milestone.

Participation in the Interreg Cooperation Day offers a great opportunity for the programmes to reach out together to the people who are not generally familiar with Interreg.

Join us!

It is voluntary and, in practice, participation means organising one or more local events or activities. Given the goals of Interreg Cooperation Day, programmes share one belief: the greater number of participating programmes, the more successful the campaign will be.
