FIREPOCTEP+: Innovating to Protect: Knowledge, Territory and Business
Experts exploring innovative wildfire prevention solutions on Interreg Cooperation Day
The strategic project FIREPOCTEP+ from Interreg Spain–Portugal 2021-2027 Programme, will host “Innovating to Protect: Knowledge, Territory and Business” at the FEUGA Auditorium, as part of Interreg Cooperation Day 2025.
The event will bring together institutions, experts, companies, research centers, and civil society to explore how cross-border cooperation and innovation can transform territorial management in the face of climate change and wildfires.
In the latest campaign, wildfires destroyed over 650,000 hectares across the Iberian Peninsula, 390,000 in Spain and 260,000 in Portugal, highlighting the urgent need for coordinated action.
FIREPOCTEP+ connects technology, science, and territorial management to strengthen resilience in the Spain–Portugal border region. Its motto, “Sowing Preventive Intelligence”, reflects its commitment to prevention, sustainability, and revitalization of rural areas.
