Interreg for Safety
We are pleased to inform you that on 29th of September 2025, Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme will organize a special event to celebrate Interreg Cooperation Day 2025.
The event, entitled “Interreg for Safety”, will take place at the implementation site of project RoBg-427 “Partnerships for Overcoming Disasters for a Safer Region”, hosted by the Giurgiu County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
The project has been implemented by Giurgiu County Council, as Lead Beneficiary, together with Bulgarian Red Cross, Red Cross Giurgiu Branch and University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”.
The action contributes to promoting the strengthening of cross-border cooperation and, in the context of the growing number of wildfires across the EU, it will offer participants a direct perspective on the tangible results.
Participants will have the opportunity to discover the results of the project RoBg-427, focused on improving prevention and response capacity in case of forest fires in the Giurgiu-Ruse area, to participate in demonstrations of equipment and technologies purchased through the Programme, to listen to real-life examples and to take part in a first-aid training session.
The programme of the day will include welcome speeches from institutional representatives, an interactive showcase of the state-of-the-art equipment used in emergencies, and a practical first-aid demonstration. To mark the 35 years of Interreg, the event will conclude with the symbolic act of planting a “tree of cooperation”.
