CoNLucraTIN 5.0 in Alba Iulia: Bringing youth ideas to life
From September 3 to 5, Alba Iulia came alive with CoNLucraTIN 5.0 – The National Convention of Youth in Romania, where over 100 youth workers gathered to share ideas and explore solutions for youth-friendly communities. The event celebrated Interreg Cooperation Day, showcasing how collaboration can create real change on the ground with Interreg projects like ForYouth (Interreg Europe) - Finding new ways to engage, connect and empower youth and YoungSpace (Interreg Europe) - Innovative managing models and policies for European Youth Spaces.
The convention kicked off with a marathon of ideas, featuring discussions with
Minister of Investments and European Projects Dragoș Pîslaru and Mayor Gabriel Pleșa on youth participation, the development of youth centers, and the future of youth work in 2025. The excitement continued with a participatory Hackathon, turning energy and ideas into tangible solutions for local communities.
Alba Iulia, soon to be Youth Capital of Romania 2026, hosted workshops as part of the Urbact Residents of the Future project, and the impact of the event will continue through Interreg projects like ForYouth, focused on shaping youth policy, and YoungSpace, dedicated to designing youth-friendly spaces. Together, these initiatives show how Interreg cooperation transforms ideas into lasting, meaningful action.
