Interreg Cooperation Day in the Minho River, Portugal

World Rivers Day, celebrated annually on September 29, brings awareness to the vital role rivers play in our ecosystems. In honor of this occasion, the BlueWWater project from Interreg POCTEP is hosting a special cleanup activity on Saturday, September 28, focusing on the banks of the Minho River.

The event kicks off at 10:00 AM, and Minho River Aquamuseu invites community members and volunteers to join efforts in preserving this important natural resource.

As part of the BlueWWater project, the event will also feature an ecological innovation: a barrier will be tested on the S. Gonçalo River to prevent floating plastics from spreading. This initiative highlights the importance of maintaining clean and healthy rivers while showcasing innovative solutions for combating plastic pollution.

We encourage everyone to participate and contribute to this meaningful effort to protect our rivers. Let’s come together and make a difference for our environment!
