Interreg funding explained

Interreg supports cooperation to tackle shared challenges across borders. To fund these solutions, Interreg programmes regularly publish calls for project proposals, inviting organisations to submit ideas that align with specific goals. While each programme has its own application rules, they all share key details, as shown in the graphic below.

 

For 2021-2027, EUR 8 billion is available across 86 Interreg programmes. Co-funding rates vary by programme, but generally, Interreg covers up to 80% of project costs, with applicants contributing the remaining funding.
