Healthcare 5.0 in Practice: Digital Solutions and Cooperation for the Future of Patient Care

As part of the 15th anniversary of Interreg Cooperation Day, the Central Danube Development Agency (CDDA) is bringing together European cooperation projects, healthcare professionals, experts and local stakeholders in Szekszárd to explore how cooperation and digital innovation can contribute to the future of healthcare.

The event also highlights cooperation across different Interreg programmes:

The event is organised in the framework of the HUMAN project and connects three Interreg projects working on complementary aspects of healthcare, digitalisation and person-centred services: HUMAN, RemoTED and LONGEVITY.

HUMAN and LONGEVITY projects are funded by Interreg Europe, while RemoTED is funded by the Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme. Bringing together projects from different Interreg programmes reinforces the European dimension of the event and demonstrates the added value of cross-programme cooperation.

Under the 2026 Cooperation Day theme “Stronger Together”, the event will focus on practical solutions to current challenges in healthcare, including the shortage of skilled professionals, digital skills, knowledge sharing, telemedicine and the sustainable introduction of new technologies into everyday care.

From European cooperation to local solutions

The programme will combine short expert presentations, good practice examples, networking and an interactive workshop. The morning will introduce the HUMAN project and reflect on its progress and recent stakeholder exchanges, before turning to practical examples of digitalisation and innovation in healthcare.

Participants will hear about Healthcare 5.0, telemedicine, digital tools for healthcare professionals and innovative solutions supporting everyday care. Contributions from RemoTED and LONGEVITY will provide an opportunity to exchange transferable experiences and good practices from other European regions.

The second part of the event will be dedicated to collaborative work. Participants will form small working groups to identify shared challenges, explore possible directions for solutions and define the first concrete steps towards implementation.

Connecting people, projects and solutions

By bringing together three Interreg projects and stakeholders from different fields, the event aims to demonstrate what “Stronger Together” can mean in practice: sharing knowledge, connecting experiences and turning European cooperation into ideas and solutions that can make a difference locally.

Throughout the event, a small Good Practice Exhibition will provide an informal space to discover projects, solutions and initiatives, exchange ideas and establish new connections.
