DeCo project activity in Thessaloniki
As part of the 15th anniversary of Interreg Cooperation Day, the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia (RDFCM), in cooperation with the International Hellenic University (IHU), is organising a DeCo project activity in Thessaloniki to highlight how Interreg supports cooperation between regions, institutions and stakeholders.
The activity is organised in the framework of the DeCo project, funded by the Interreg Europe Programme. Both RDFCM and IHU are DeCo partners, and their cooperation shows how Interreg helps regional authorities, academic institutions and stakeholders work together, exchange knowledge and address common challenges.
The event will take place during the 5th Regional Stakeholder Group (RSG) Meeting of the DeCo project and will focus on the recently approved DeCo pilot action. The pilot action involves four project partners: Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia (RDFCM), International Hellenic University (IHU), Wallonie Design from Belgium and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the pilot action, its objectives and the next steps for its implementation. The discussion will also focus on the cooperation among the involved partners and on how interregional cooperation can support the development and testing of practical solutions at regional level.
From European cooperation to regional action
The event will include presentations and discussion on the DeCo project, the approved pilot action and the role of cooperation in supporting regional development. Through the exchange of experience and knowledge, participants will explore how Interreg projects can contribute to stronger regional networks, better policy learning and more effective cooperation between institutions.
Connecting partners, stakeholders and knowledge
By bringing together project partners, academic representatives, industry, public authorities and regional stakeholders, the event aims to demonstrate how Interreg cooperation can create links between institutions, strengthen collaboration and support the transfer of knowledge into practice.
Under the 2026 Cooperation Day theme “Stronger Together”, the activity will highlight how working together across regions and countries can lead to more meaningful and practical results.
