Cross-Border Tourism in Focus: XVIII International Tourism Congress – ITC’26
On 1–2 October 2026, the University of Vigo will host the XVIII International Tourism Congress (ITC’26), co-organised by the AECT Rio Minho as part of the VISIT_RIO_MINHO_PLUS project under the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021–2027 programme.
This year’s edition is dedicated to cross-border tourism, with the Rio Minho region serving as a prime example of how shared resources—such as gastronomy, cultural heritage, and river routes—can drive sustainable development.
The congress brings together researchers, public administrators, businesses, and tourism professionals to exchange knowledge and experiences. Through scientific sessions, research presentations, and networking opportunities, ITC’26 aims to foster collaboration and innovation in border territories. By bridging academia and practical cooperation, the event underscores the message of "Stronger Together", showcasing how joint efforts can transform cross-border regions into thriving, connected destinations.
Venue: Faculty of Economics and Business Administration – University of Vigo
