Organised annually by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) since 2008, the REGIOSTARS Awards aims to 'inspire regions to create impactful and inclusive projects that benefit people and communities.'

This year, the competition received 266 applications, and only 25 projects were shortlisted - making the selection highly competitive. Interreg managed to have 10 projects among the finalists, appearing in every category except one ('Connected Europe').

The finalists will present their projects to the jury and a live audience on 14 October, during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels.

But before that, from 2 September to 15 October (midday), the public will have the chance to vote online for their favourite finalist - helping to decide the winner of the Public Choice Award.

Both the jury-selected winners and the public favourite will be revealed at a special awards ceremony on the evening of 15 October in Brussels.
