This initiative seeks to create a more focused, simpler, and impactful EU budget that aligns with the Union's strategic priorities.

The consultation, open until 7 May 2025, invites contributions from a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including EU institutions, national and regional authorities, businesses, civil society organisations, and citizens. Participants can share their perspectives on various policy areas, such as cohesion policy, agriculture, home affairs, and cross-border cooperation.

This effort is part of a series of seven public consultations aimed at shaping an effective and strategic EU budget. The Commission plans to present its proposals for the post-2027 MFF and the next generation of financial programmes later this year.
