Legend
Interreg Hungary-Croatia
This programme promotes cross-border cooperation to advance sustainable development and regional integration, supporting the EU's cohesion policy. Covering 31 085 km² with 2.1 million residents, it builds on previous programmes to strengthen networks and balanced growth.The focus of the current programme is slightly shifted towards supporting the reinforcement and expansion of the existing co-operative networks and contributing to the establishment of a sound basis for a dynamic and lasting co-operation across the border. Besides that, the programme increases the concentration on encouraging sustainable economic co-operation in the region.
Due to its limited scope and specific cross-border nature, the programme’s guiding principle is to support selected co-operative actions in priority fields, rather than large-scale interventions. Although the programme does make use of the instrument of Operations of Strategic Importance as well, a significant portion of the funding is planned to be awarded on open calls for proposals. Between 2021 and 2027 the joint programme’s focus is set on:
- enhancing sustainable growth and competitiveness of SME-s and job creation in SMEs;
- promoting energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions;
- promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention and resilience;
- developing and enhancing sustainable, climate resilient, intelligent and intermodal national, regional and local mobility, including improved access to TEN-T and cross-border mobility;
- enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation;
- improving access to inclusive and quality services in education, training and lifelong learning;
- enhancing efficient public administration by promoting legal and administrative cooperation and cooperation between citizens, civil society actors and institutions; and
- building up mutual trust, in particular by encouraging people-to-people actions.
