Interreg Cooperation Day in the Bieszczady Mountains, Poland
Sixteen schools from Poland and Ukraine participated in the Finals of the Youth Education Campaign titled "Let's Follow the Common Trail!", held as part of Interreg Cooperation Day. The event took place from October 2-5 in Solina, located in the Bieszczady Mountains, Poland.
The finalists were chosen from a pool of 20 schools that had submitted entries earlier in the spring, focusing on the campaign’s theme. One of the tasks required teams to design a mini-project aimed at positively impacting their local communities. Schools from the Podlaskie, Lubelskie, and Podkarpackie regions in Poland, as well as from the Lviv, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Zakarpattia regions in Ukraine, were selected to compete in the Finals.
Throughout the four-day event in the Bieszczady Mountains, participants engaged in a variety of workshops covering topics such as dance, ecology, cartography, and rescue skills. The students worked together in mixed Polish-Ukrainian teams, allowing them to not only build skills in these fields but also learn about collaboration and the language of their neighbors. These workshops culminated in collaborative final presentations, and students also participated in a thematic field game.
A highlight of the event was an excursion through the Bieszczady Mountains, where participants visited sites linked to Programme projects that also serve as significant tourist attractions. At the conclusion of the event, all participants received prize kits and commemorative diplomas. Many students expressed their eagerness to participate in future editions of the campaign.
