Interreg Cooperation Day in the border in Chaves-Verín Eurocity
The Eurocidade Chaves-Verín, EGTC, carried out awareness-raising activities with students in Verín and in Chaves, as part of the Interreg Cooperation Day.
During the events, the students had the opportunity to reflect on the meaning of the border as a space of union and the friendships built between children on both sides. Both events took place in CEIP Plurilingüe Amaro Refojo, en Verín, and Escuela Secundaria Fernão de Magalhães, Chaves.
Last June, these schools recorded a CD at the Eurocidade rehearsal space as part of the Eurocidade 2030 project, featuring traditional Galician and Portuguese songs; Verín students sang Portuguese songs, while Chaves students performed Galician songs.
The activities concluded with the distribution of CDs to all participants, celebrating the result of joint work and highlighting the importance of cultural exchange and cross-border cooperation.
This action was carried out under the EUROCITY 2030 project, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027 Programme.
