Interreg Cooperation Day Photo Competition at Baltic Sea Region

As part of Interreg Cooperation Day and the Baltic Sea Region programme, the International Active Mobility Photo Competition invites participants from Cesis (Latvia), Gävle (Sweden), Gdynia (Poland), Greifswald (Germany), Panevėžys (Lithuania) and Turku (Finland) to showcase their experiences with walking or cycling.

The goal is to highlight how active mobility is integrated into everyday life and urban environments.
The competition, running from September 1 to September 20, supports the SUMPs for BSR project, which aims to promote sustainable and active transportation. This project helps Baltic Sea Region cities shift towards people-centered urban mobility planning, focusing on reducing CO2 emissions from traffic and encouraging healthier lifestyles.

Alongside the online photo competition, three cities – Panevėžys, Gdynia, and Cesis – are hosting combined events during European Mobility Week, which include the awards ceremonies for the competition. These events underscore the collaborative spirit of Interreg Cooperation Day, encouraging sustainable mobility through community involvement and recognition of efforts in promoting active mobility.
