Join forces in Interreg Baltic Sea Region Project Platforms for greater impact!

By Anna Galyga and Elena Kolosova

With fresh project outcomes in place, the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme is launching an innovative call for key players to unite in capitalising on results and strategically shaping the Baltic Sea region. The call is open for Interreg Baltic Sea Region project partners and partners of other EU funded projects.

What Are We Doing?

Are you interested in elevating the consolidated outcomes of several projects? Would you like to drive knowledge transfer and influence policy? Are you ready to provide strategic solutions to the most pressing challenges in the region? Are you excited about working with partners from Interreg Baltic Sea Region and other funding programmes – as if there were no borders? If you answer ‘yes’ to these questions, this open call for project platform applications is just for you!

We are thrilled to announce that the Interreg Baltic Sea’s first call for project platform applications is open! Project platforms are a strategic capitalisation tool within the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme, designed to maximize the impact of existing projects.

What Are Project Platforms?

Project platforms enable partners to consolidate the outcomes of Interreg Baltic Sea Region projects and integrate them with results from other funding programmes, such as various Interreg programmes, Horizon Europe, ERDF and ESF+ national and regional programmes. These platforms are essential for boosting knowledge transfer and influencing policy development.

How Do They Work?

Project platforms are set up as projects, with partners, a work plan, and a budget. They align with one of the Programme’s thematic objectives: 1.1 Resilient economies and communities, 1.2 Responsive public services, 2.1 Sustainable waters, 2.2 Blue economy, 3.1 Circular economy, 3.2 Energy transition, or 3.3 Smart green mobility.

Project platforms support public authorities and other relevant organisations in utilising consolidated project results to govern and manage their areas more effectively. This, in turn, allows for more effective tackling of territorial challenges and policy improvements.

Why Participate?

Are you proud of your project’s solutions? Do you want to collaborate with partners from other projects and programmes? Join forces and develop an application for a project platform! With new Interreg funding, you can achieve more together for the benefit of the people in the Baltic Sea region.

Last but not least, your project platform will become an Operation of Strategic Importance (OSI) for Interreg Baltic Sea Region, which will mean strong communication support, more attention from the European Commission and boosted visibility across the EU.

Get Started

Everything you need to know you will find in the Interreg Baltic Sea Region gateway for applicants. Do not miss to submit your Project Platform Idea Form by 21 October to keep the gateway open.
