Programme Thematic Objectives

We aim at strengthening research and innovation by encouraging cross-border collaborations and smart use of technology. It focuses on:
1. Connecting innovators and raising innovation awareness.
2. Creating and applying inventive cross-border solutions.Activities include forming partnerships, sharing knowledge, supporting startups, and promoting practical research in areas like healthcare, environment, and renewable energy.
Projects that align with innovation strategies, involve diverse partners, and benefit local businesses are preferred.
Investment in necessary equipment is supported.
Success is gauged by collaborations formed and solutions developed, with the goal of establishing lasting partnerships and enhancing the region's innovation.
RSO 1.1 Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies

The programme addresses climate change adaptation by:
1. Facilitating knowledge sharing among various groups.
2. Creating shared strategies for adaptation.
3. Developing nature-based solutions.
4. Training emergency teams.
5. Educating communities and businesses.It supports investments in equipment and natural habitats restoration.
The goal is long-term collaboration, continued solution development, and education on climate change.
RSO 2.4 Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking into account eco-system based approaches
Objective 2.7 targets wildlife protection and natural environment improvement at the German-Polish border.
Key focus:
1. Joint conservation efforts.
2. Education on sustainability and biodiversity.Activities encompass landscape conservation, habitat networks, protected area management, and water preservation, alongside networking and educational campaigns.
Investments in equipment and conservation construction are supported.
Success hinges on collaboration, conservation scope, developed solutions, and educational engagement, aiming for sustained impact and long-term cooperation.
RSO 2.7 Biodiversity and green infrastructure
Objective 4.2 aims to boost success in the border area job market through language and skills development.
Key focuses:
1. Learning the neighbour's language, culture, and career-enhancing skills.
2. Building digital cross-border education platforms.Activities include developing bilingual educational content, offering part-time courses, and acquiring tech for cross-border learning.
Investment in equipment for digital education communication is encouraged.
Building new educational institutions is not supported.
RSO 4.2 Improving equal access education, training and lifelong
RSO 4.6 Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism
The programme boosts the border area's economy by linking cultural and tourist services. It supports creating joint tourism offerings, improving paths, protecting heritage, developing digital tools, and connecting tourism groups. It focuses on accessibility, promoting culture, and utilizing innovative technology. Funding targets projects with cross-border benefits, aiming for increased visitors and enhanced digital services.
The programme helps boost collaboration between border areas by funding strategies and sharing information to benefit residents, businesses, and authorities. It aims to improve local governance, transport, job opportunities, and regional planning. The focus is on developing shared strategies for growth, and providing clear information and advice on cross-border living and working. The programme also aids in acquiring necessary equipment. Ultimately, it seeks to make everyday life easier in the border region and strengthen the relationship between communities.
RSO 6.1 Enhance the institutional capacity of public authorities
RSO 6.3 Build up mutual trust
This programme supports community involvement and interactions between Germany and Poland in the border area. It primarily funds:
1. Jointly organised public events that foster community bonding,
2. Cross-border gatherings and sharing of knowledge among community members, businesses, scholars, and authorities.These activities are aimed at reducing biases, promoting mutual understanding, and sparking interest in each other's cultures. The programme also offers a small project fund for various participants and supports the purchase of essential equipment.
The success of these projects will be gauged by the number of collaborative institutions, participants in shared activities, and joint public events. The long-term goal is to foster ongoing cooperation among organisations across the border, contributing to a united and mutually supportive community.

Description
In the 2021-2027 funding period, European territorial cooperation remains one of the central goals of European cohesion policy. The cooperation is now officially recognized via the “Interreg” brand in the EU regulations. Interreg programs make a significant contribution to economic, social and territorial cohesion between the individual states and regions in Europe.
The cooperation program Interreg VI A Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania / Brandenburg / Poland 2021-2027 was established within the framework of the territorial cooperation objective of the European Union.
The co-financing of the expenses for the implementation of the program comes from funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). A total of EUR 116.4 million ERDF is available for projects
